Matsya Purana — Eclipse-Time Planetary Bath
य इदं शृणुयान्नित्यं श्रावयेद्वापि मानवः सर्वपापविनिर्मुक्तः शक्रलोके महीयते //
ya idaṃ śṛṇuyānnityaṃ śrāvayedvāpi mānavaḥ sarvapāpavinirmuktaḥ śakraloke mahīyate //
Any person who regularly listens to this teaching, or causes it to be recited, is freed from all sins and is honored in the world of Śakra (Indra).
This verse does not describe pralaya events directly; it functions as a phala-śruti, promising spiritual merit (sin-removal and heavenly honor) for hearing or facilitating recitation of the text.
It supports the dharmic practice of śravaṇa (listening) and śrāvana/pravacana (arranging recitation) as regular disciplines; for householders and rulers, sponsoring readings and ensuring public access to sacred instruction is presented as a merit-generating duty.
No specific Vāstu or temple-building rule is stated here; the ritual takeaway is the efficacy of nitya-śravaṇa (regular listening) and śrāvayet (causing recitation) as a meritorious religious observance.
