Matsya Purana — Dynastic Genealogies: Paurava–Anu Lines
शिबेस्तु शिबयः पुत्राश् चत्वारो लोकविश्रुताः पृथुदर्भः सुवीरश्च केकयो भद्रकस्तथा //
śibestu śibayaḥ putrāś catvāro lokaviśrutāḥ pṛthudarbhaḥ suvīraśca kekayo bhadrakastathā //
Now, Śibi had four sons, renowned throughout the world: Pṛthudarbha, Suvīra, Kekaya, and likewise Bhadraka.
This verse does not address Pralaya; it is a genealogical notice listing Śibi’s four famous sons, preserving dynastic memory rather than cosmology.
Indirectly, it supports the Purāṇic ideal of kingship through lineage: naming renowned heirs emphasizes continuity of righteous rule, inheritance of responsibility, and the social order sustained by well-known royal lines.
No Vāstu or ritual procedure is mentioned in this verse; it functions purely as a dynastic enumeration within the Matsya Purana’s genealogical narration.
