Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how righteous valor and extraordinary effort (karmāṇi) earn recognition beyond the human sphere: even the gods rejoice and remember such deeds. It underscores the ethical ideal of kṣatriya heroism—courage and excellence in battle—framed as worthy of divine approval when aligned with dharma.

After observing the astonishing combat involving the Kurus and Arjuna (Phālguna/Pārtha), the gods become delighted. Reflecting on Arjuna’s feats, they depart and return to their respective heavenly dwellings.
