Identification of the Pāṇḍavas in Virāṭa’s Court

Vaiśampāyana said: Then Arjuna, setting Bhīṣma aside in the battle and striking down his charioteer, stood freed in the midst of the mass of chariots—like the thousand-rayed sun breaking through a cloud. Shining with a banner adorned by a golden garland, he overpowered the enemies and, by the very splendor of his standard, seemed to humble the whole opposing host. Seeing the Kauravas withdraw, the diademed Arjuna rejoiced; and he spoke to Prince Uttara, son of the king of Matsya: “Prince, now turn the horses back. Your cattle have been recovered and the foes have fled; therefore return to the city in safety and joy.”
