Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 21 — Kīcaka’s clandestine approach and Bhīma’s covert intervention (नर्तनागारे कीचकवध-प्रसङ्गः)

तत्र मां धर्मराजस्तु कटाक्षेण न्‍्यवारयत्‌ | तदहं तस्य विज्ञाय स्थित एवास्मि भामिनि,किंतु धर्मराजने वहाँ नेत्रोंसे संकेत करके मुझे ऐसा करनेसे रोक दिया। भामिनि! उनके उस इशारेको समझकर ही मैं चुप रह गया

tatra māṃ dharmarājas tu kaṭākṣeṇa nyavārayat | tad ahaṃ tasya vijñāya sthita evāsmi bhāmini |

There, however, King Dharma (Yudhiṣṭhira) restrained me with a mere glance. Understanding his signal, O passionate lady, I remained exactly as I was—silent and self-controlled.
