Lopāmudrā tathā bhīru vayorūpasamanvitā | Agastim anvayād dhitvā kāmān sarvān amānuṣān ||
Bhīma said: “So too did the gentle Lopāmudrā, endowed with youth and incomparable beauty. Casting aside all extraordinary, otherworldly pleasures, she chose to follow only her husband, the great sage Agastya.”
भीमसेन उवाच
The verse upholds steadfast marital fidelity and dharmic commitment: even when endowed with youth, beauty, and access to exceptional pleasures, Lopāmudrā chooses principled devotion—following her husband Agastya—over indulgence.
Bhīma cites Lopāmudrā as an illustrative example while speaking: she abandons extraordinary enjoyments and aligns her life with the austere path of her husband, the sage Agastya, demonstrating a model of ethical resolve and devotion.
