वैशग्पायन उवाच
When truth becomes known, society has a duty to honor the innocent and virtuous, and to openly censure the wrongdoer—especially when wrongdoing involves abuse of power and harassment. Public approval and blame are presented as moral instruments that uphold dharma.
After the events surrounding Draupadī and Kīcaka become clear, the courtiers in the assembly recognize Draupadī’s integrity and repeatedly praise her. At the same time, they condemn Kīcaka, expressing collective disapproval of his conduct.
