लोगश उवाच
The verse highlights gṛhastha-dharma: entering household life is not merely a personal desire but a responsibility requiring readiness and capacity. Even a great ascetic like Agastya proceeds with discernment and social propriety by formally approaching the king.
Lomaśa begins recounting how Agastya, realizing the Vidarbha princess was ready for household responsibilities, went to the King of Vidarbha and spoke to him—setting up the episode of Agastya’s marriage-related request.
