Bṛhadaśva said: As Damayantī continued her search for her husband, she beheld many mountains and rivers, many delightful peaks, and countless beasts and birds; yet her resolve remained fixed on finding Nala.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights steadfastness in dharma through adversity: Damayantī’s unwavering commitment to her spouse and purpose continues despite fear, fatigue, and uncertainty in the wilderness. Ethical strength is shown as endurance and fidelity, not merely as spoken ideals.

Bṛhadaśva narrates Damayantī’s solitary passage through the forest while searching for Nala. She observes the landscape—mountains, rivers, and wildlife—marking her long, difficult journey and the vastness of the terrain she must cross.
