There, the Sādhyas and the Viśvedevas were present, as were the Maruts and the twin Aśvins. The Ādityas, the Vasus, and the Rudras also sat assembled, along with stainless, pure-minded Brahmarṣis.

Educational Q&A

By listing revered divine groups and pure Brahmarṣis as present, the verse underscores that major events unfold under the gaze of cosmic and ethical authority; dharma is not merely personal but witnessed and upheld by the wider moral universe.

Vaiśampāyana describes an august gathering/assembly where multiple classes of gods and eminent sages are seated together, establishing the grandeur and sanctity of the setting before subsequent actions or discourse.
