Divākara-prasāda and the Establishment of Akṣaya-anna
Sūrya’s Favor and Inexhaustible Provision
येषां भीमो बाहुशाली च योद्धा तेषां लोके कि नु न प्राप्यमस्ति । उक्त पूर्व जातमात्रे सुते ते मया यत् ते हितमासीत् तदानीम्,क्रोधमें भरे हुए भीमसेन अथवा अर्जुन अपने शत्रुओंकी सेनामें किसीको जीवित नहीं छोड़ेंगे। अस्त्रविद्यामें निपुण सव्यसाची अर्जुन जिनके योद्धा हैं, सम्पूर्ण लोकोंका सारभूत गाण्डीव जिनका धनुष है तथा अपने बाहुबलसे सुशोभित होनेवाले भीमसेन जिनकी ओरसे युद्ध करनेवाले हैं, उन पाण्डवोंके लिये संसारमें ऐसी कौन-सी वस्तु है जो प्राप्त न हो सके। आपके पुत्र दुर्योधनके जन्म लेते ही मुझे उस समय जो हितकी बात जान पड़ी, वह मैंने पहले ही बता दी थी
yeṣāṃ bhīmo bāhuśālī ca yoddhā teṣāṃ loke ki nu na prāpyam asti | uktaṃ pūrvaṃ jātamātre sute te mayā yat te hitam āsīt tadānīm ||
Vidura said: “For those whose champion is Bhima—mighty-armed and invincible in battle—what in this world could possibly be unattainable? At the very moment your son was born, I had already spoken to you what I understood then to be for your welfare.”
विदुर उवाच
Wise counsel should be heeded early: Vidura reminds the king that he had already advised what was truly beneficial at the time of the prince’s birth, implying that ignoring ethical warning signs leads to inevitable and disastrous outcomes.
Vidura is speaking to the Kuru king, stressing the formidable power of the Pandavas’ champions (here, Bhima is highlighted) and recalling that he had previously given timely, welfare-oriented advice when the king’s son was born.
