अर्जुनस्य इन्द्रकीलगमनम् तथा शक्रसाक्षात्कारः
Arjuna’s journey to Indrakīla and encounter with Indra
नास्य स्वर्गस्पूहा काचिन्नैश्वर्यस्थ तथा5<5युष: । यत् तस्य काड्क्षितं सर्व तत् करिष्येडहमद्य वै,उन्हें स्वर्गलोककी कोई इच्छा नहीं है, वे ऐश्वर्य तथा आयु भी नहीं चाहते। वे जो कुछ पाना चाहते हैं, वह सब मैं आज ही पूर्ण करूँगा
nāsya svargaspṛhā kācin na aiśvaryas tathāyuṣaḥ | yat tasya kāṅkṣitaṃ sarvaṃ tat kariṣye 'ham adya vai ||
Mahādeva said: “He has no longing for heaven at all; nor does he seek worldly sovereignty or even length of life. Whatever he truly desires, all of that I shall accomplish today.”
महादेव उवाच
The verse highlights desirelessness as a mark of higher devotion: the devotee does not bargain for heaven, power, or longevity, and divine grace responds by fulfilling what is truly sought rather than what is merely tempting.
Mahādeva observes that the person in question is not motivated by common rewards (heaven, sovereignty, long life). Pleased by this purity of intent, he declares that he will grant and complete the devotee’s genuine wish immediately.
