Bhīmasena’s Discourse on Kāla, Resolve, and the Feasibility of Ajñātavāsa (भीमसेनस्य कालोपदेशः)
bhīṣmād droṇāt kṛpāt karṇād droṇaputrācca bhārata | duryodhanān napasutāt tathā duḥśāsanād api ||
Vyāsa said: “O Bhārata, the fear that has entered your mind—of Bhīṣma, Droṇa, Kṛpa, Karṇa, Droṇa’s son (Aśvatthāmā), and also of Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son Duryodhana and of Duḥśāsana—I shall remove by means sanctioned by the śāstras.”
Fear in the face of formidable opponents is to be addressed through disciplined, śāstra-grounded counsel and right method—not by panic or impulsive action. Vyāsa positions ethical, authoritative guidance as a remedy for inner turmoil.
Vyāsa reassures the addressed Bhārata that the dread arising from powerful Kuru warriors (Bhīṣma, Droṇa, Kṛpa, Karṇa, Aśvatthāmā, Duryodhana, and Duḥśāsana) will be dispelled, and he promises to do so through a proper, scripturally sanctioned means.
