सर्वथा धर्ममूलो<र्थों धर्मश्चार्थपरिग्रह: । इतरेतरयोर्नीतौ विद्धि मेघोदधी यथा,“अर्थका कारण है धर्म और धर्म सिद्ध होता है अर्थसंग्रहसे। जैसे मेघसे समुद्रकी पुष्टि होती है और समुद्रसे मेघकी पूर्ति। इस प्रकार धर्म और अर्थको एक-दूसरेके आश्रित समझना चाहिये

In every way, artha is rooted in dharma, and dharma is sustained by the acquisition of artha. Know that the two depend upon each other, like the clouds and the ocean.
