Educational Q&A

The verse sets up an ethical trial: urgency and concern for kin must still be guided by disciplined action and proper conduct. It foreshadows that even a simple act like taking water can become a dharmic test when rules and warnings are involved.

The Yaksha, speaking from the lake, tells Sahadeva that Nakula has been away too long and instructs him to go bring Nakula back and fetch water. This is part of the escalating sequence in the Yaksha-prashna episode, drawing the brothers one by one toward the lake and its conditions.
