Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Even a small quantity of food—prepared in the four customary kinds—would, by the power of that vessel, multiply and become inexhaustible. With that ever-increasing supply they began to feed the twice-born (brāhmaṇas), fulfilling the duty of hospitality and sustaining dharma through giving.

The verse highlights dharma through hospitality: even limited resources, when aligned with righteous intent and supported by divine or extraordinary means, become sufficient for sustaining guests—especially brāhmaṇas—emphasizing generosity, service, and the ethical priority of feeding others.
Vaiśaṃpāyana describes a miraculous vessel whose power makes a small amount of cooked food multiply into an inexhaustible supply, enabling the protagonists to feed brāhmaṇas regularly despite living with scarcity.
