Having first bowed at the feet of the venerable elders there, he then proceeded in due order, dear child, to visit and wander through all the forests—acting with humility toward those worthy of honor and with disciplined purpose in his journey.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse highlights dharma expressed as humility and proper conduct: one should honor elders and the worthy through respectful obeisance before undertaking one’s own pursuits, and proceed with order and self-discipline.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes a person who, after paying respects to the respected elders present, sets out to move through the forests one by one, continuing his journey in an orderly manner.
