इत्येवमुक्त्वानुज्ञाप्य रामं शस्त्रभृतां बरम्
ity evam uktvānujñāpya rāmaṃ śastrabhṛtāṃ varam
Having spoken thus, he took leave of Rāma—foremost among those who bear weapons—asking due permission before departing.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Even after giving instruction or completing a message, one should act with humility and propriety—seeking consent and taking leave respectfully, especially when addressing a revered or eminent person.
Mārkaṇḍeya finishes his speech and, after requesting permission, formally takes leave of Rāma, who is praised as the foremost among warriors.
