Sāvitrī’s Dialogue with Yama and the Restoration of Satyavān
यावदशभ्यागता रौद्रा: पिशाच्यस्ता: सुदारुणा: । ददृशुस्तां त्रिजटया सहासीनां यथा पुरा,इतनेमें ही अत्यन्त क्रूर स््वभाववाली वे भयंकर पिशाचिनियाँ रावणके दरबारसे वहाँ लौटकर आयीं। आकर उन्होंने देखा, सीता त्रिजटाके साथ पूर्ववत् अपने स्थानपर बैठी है
yāvad aśabhyāgatā raudrāḥ piśācyas tāḥ sudāruṇāḥ | dadṛśus tāṃ trijaṭayā sahāsīnāṃ yathā purā ||
Just then those frightful, exceedingly cruel rākṣasī-women returned from Rāvaṇa’s court. On arriving, they saw Sītā seated in her place as before, with Trijaṭā beside her—steadfast and unshaken despite intimidation, upheld by the protection of a sympathetic companion.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Even amid coercion and hostile surroundings, steadfastness in dharma is sustained by inner resolve and the presence of at least one compassionate ally (here, Trijaṭā), showing how moral support can protect integrity against intimidation.
The fierce piśācinī attendants return from Rāvaṇa’s court and find Sītā sitting as before with Trijaṭā, indicating that their threats or reports have not altered Sītā’s composed stance and that Trijaṭā remains by her side.
