Indrajit’s Binding, Restoration by Viśalyā, and Counsel Restraining Rāvaṇa (Āraṇyaka Parva 273)

bhīmasena uvāca: nāyaṃ pāpasamācāro matto jīvitum arhati | kṛṣṇāyās tad-anarhāyāḥ parikleṣṭā narādhamaḥ ||

Bhīmasena said: “This man of sinful conduct does not deserve to live at my hands. That vilest of men has tormented Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī), who is undeserving of such suffering; therefore it is not right that Jayadratha, this evildoer, should now be allowed to keep his life.”

Educational Q&A

A wrongdoer who inflicts suffering on the innocent—especially one under protection—incurs grave moral blame; Bhīma frames punishment as a matter of justice and defense of dharma, not mere personal anger.

After Jayadratha has caused distress to Draupadī, Bhīma declares that such a sinner is unfit to live and insists that Jayadratha should not be spared.
