Educational Q&A

Fear can eclipse discernment: even learned brāhmaṇas, when overwhelmed by anxiety about powerful figures, may abandon steadiness and proper deliberation. The verse highlights the ethical need for composure and right judgment in tense situations.

After their revered sage-teacher speaks, the assembled brāhmaṇas become extremely afraid of the Pāṇḍavas and immediately run off, dispersing in all directions, indicating sudden panic and escalation in the scene.
