अथाभिद्रुत्य महिषो देवांश्षिक्षेप तं गिरिम्‌,परंतु महिषासुरने देवताओंका पीछा करके उनके ऊपर वह पहाड़ पटक दिया। युधिष्ठि!! उस भयानक पर्वतके गिरनेसे देवसेनाके दस हजार योद्धा कुचलकर धरतीपर गिर पड़े

Transliteration

athābhidrutya mahiṣo devān kṣipepa taṃ girim | yudhiṣṭhira, tasya bhīṣaṇasya parvatasya patanena devasenāyā daśa-sahasrāṇi yodhāḥ pīḍitāḥ kuṭṭitāś ca bhūmau nipetuḥ ||

Translation

Mārkaṇḍeya said: “Then the buffalo-demon charged forward and hurled that mountain upon the gods. O Yudhiṣṭhira, as that dreadful peak came crashing down, ten thousand warriors of the gods’ host were crushed and fell upon the earth.”
