“Miñjikā and Miñjika—this paired couple—are born of Rudra (Śiva). Therefore, anyone who seeks the welfare of children should, here in this world, always offer reverent salutations to this pair.”
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse teaches that reverence (namaskāra) to certain auspicious, Śiva-origin beings is a dharmic act specifically linked with seeking and securing the welfare of children.
Mārkaṇḍeya identifies Miñjikā and Miñjika as a divinely originated pair from Rudra and instructs that those concerned for children’s well-being should regularly bow to them.
