Shloka 8

Skanda–Mātṛgaṇa-janma: Kumārakāḥ, Kanyāgaṇāḥ, and the Vīrāṣṭaka (स्कन्द-मातृगण-सम्भवः)

एतत्‌ ते सर्वमाख्यातं यथा मम पुराभवत्‌,विप्रवर! पूर्वजन्ममें मेरे ऊपर जो कुछ बीता था, वह सब मैंने आपसे कह सुनाया। अब इस जीवनके पश्चात्‌ मुझे स्वर्गलोकमें जाना है

etat te sarvam ākhyātaṃ yathā mama purābhavat | vipravara! pūrvajanmani me mayi upari yat kiṃcid bītam, tat sarvaṃ mayā te kathitaṃ śrāvitaṃ | adhunā asya jīvanasya paścāt mama svargalokaṃ gantavyam |

“I have told you everything, exactly as it happened to me in the past, O best of Brahmins. All that I underwent in my former birth—everything that befell me—I have recounted to you. Now, after this life is over, I am destined to go to the heavenly world.”
