“You ought not to give way to anxiety. Men like you—wise, disciplined, and living on sacred offerings—who understand how to conduct themselves in accordance with the ways of the world, and who are ever devoted to dharma, do not sink into despondency.”
ब्राह्मण उवाच
A person grounded in dharma and trained in proper conduct should not be overwhelmed by worry or dejection; ethical steadiness and understanding of right worldly conduct support inner composure.
A brāhmaṇa addresses someone being troubled, urging him to abandon anxiety by appealing to his identity as a learned, dharma-committed person who knows how to act in accordance with accepted worldly and moral norms.
