पञ्चवर्णोत्पत्तिः — The Origin of the Five-Colored Fiery Being and Ritual-Disruptor Lineages
इति लोकमनाक्रन्दं मोहशोकपरिप्लुतम्
iti lokam anākrandaṁ mohaśokapariplutam
“Thus is the world—without any true outcry for help, yet wholly overwhelmed and flooded by delusion and grief.”
व्याध उवाच
The verse diagnoses worldly life as pervaded by moha (delusion) and śoka (grief). Ethical progress begins by recognizing this condition and cultivating clarity, restraint, and dharma rather than being carried away by emotional turbulence.
Vyādha (the hunter) is instructing his listener, summarizing his observation about society: people live submerged in delusion and sorrow, often without a meaningful ‘cry’ that leads to true remedy—setting up further guidance on right conduct and understanding.
