Educational Q&A

Power driven by amarṣa (resentful intolerance) becomes destructive: it leads to repeated oppression even of the worthy, threatening dharma and the stability of the world; therefore self-restraint and righteous governance are essential.

Mārkaṇḍeya describes Dhundhu as wrathful and aggressive: he defeats the Devas along with the Gandharvas and then repeatedly harasses them all, even confronting Viṣṇu and the other gods with severe violence.
