ब्राह्मणानुयात्रा—शौनकोपदेशः
Brāhmaṇas Follow into Exile and Śaunaka’s Instruction
त्यजेत संचयांस्तस्मात्तज्जान् क्लेशान् सहेत च | न हि संचयवान् कश्रिद् दृश्यते निरुपद्रव: । अतश्न धार्मिकै: पुंभिरनीहार्थ: प्रशस्पते,“इसलिये धन-संग्रहका त्याग करे और उसके त्यागसे जो क्लेश हो, उसे धैर्यपूर्वक सह ले। जिनके पास धनका संग्रह है, ऐसा कोई भी मनुष्य उपद्रवरहित नहीं देखा जाता। अतः धर्मात्मा पुरुष उसी धनकी प्रशंसा करते हैं जो दैवेच्छासे न्यायपूर्वक स्वतः प्राप्त हो गया हो
tyajet sañcayāṁs tasmāt taj-jān kleśān saheta ca | na hi sañcayavān kaścid dṛśyate nirupadravaḥ | ataś ca dhārmikaiḥ puṁbhir anīhārthaḥ praśasyate |
Therefore one should renounce hoarding of wealth, and patiently endure whatever hardships arise from giving it up. For no person who possesses accumulated stores is ever seen to be free from troubles. Hence, righteous men praise that kind of livelihood which is without grasping—wealth that comes of itself in due course, in accordance with justice and the will of fate.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
