ब्राह्मणानुयात्रा—शौनकोपदेशः

Brāhmaṇas Follow into Exile and Śaunaka’s Instruction

दुःखेन चाधिगम्यन्ते तस्मान्नाशं न चिन्तयेत्‌ । असंतोषपरा मूढा: संतोष॑ यान्ति पण्डिता:,“धनकी प्राप्ति भी दुःखसे ही होती है। इसलिये उसका चिन्तन न करे; क्योंकि धनकी चिन्ता करना अपना नाश करना है। मूर्ख मनुष्य सदा असंतुष्ट रहते हैं और विद्वान्‌ पुरुष संतुष्ट

Wealth, too, is gained only through hardship; therefore one should not brood upon it. For anxiety over riches is to contemplate one’s own ruin. The foolish are ever discontent; the wise attain contentment.
