ब्राह्मणानुयात्रा—शौनकोपदेशः

Brāhmaṇas Follow into Exile and Śaunaka’s Instruction

मनोदेहसमुत्थाभ्यां दुःखाभ्यामर्दितं जगत्‌ । तयोव्याससमासा भ्यां शमोपायमिमं शृणु,“सारा जगत्‌ मानसिक और शारीरिक दु:खोंसे पीडित है। उन दोनों प्रकारके दुःखोंकी शान्तिका यह उपाय संक्षेप और विस्तारसे सुनिये

manodehasamutthābhyāṃ duḥkhābhyām arditaṃ jagat | tayor vyāsasamāsābhyāṃ śamopāyam imaṃ śṛṇu |

Vaiśampāyana said: “The whole world is afflicted by two kinds of suffering—those arising from the mind and those arising from the body. Now hear this means of pacifying them, explained both in brief and in fuller detail.”
