Indradyumna Upākhyāna: On Kīrti, Smṛti, and Restoration
उदय और अस्तके समय सूर्य राहुसे ग्रस्त दिखायी देगा। भगवान् इन्द्र समयपर वर्षा नहीं करेंगे ।। सस्यानि च न रोक्ष्यन्ति युगान्ते पर्युपस्थिते । अभीक्षणं क्रूरवादिन्य: परुषा रुदितप्रिया:,युगान्तकाल उपस्थित होनेपर बोयी हुई खेती उगेगी ही नहीं; स्त्रियाँ कठोर स्वभाववाली और सदा कटुवादिनी होंगी। उन्हें रोना ही अधिक पसंद होगा
udayāstamaye sūryo rāhuṇā grasta iva dṛśyate | bhagavān indraḥ samayena varṣāṃ na kariṣyati || sasyāni ca na ropsyante yugānte paryupasthite | abhīkṣṇaṃ krūravādinyāḥ paruṣā ruditapriyāḥ ||
Mārkaṇḍeya said: “At sunrise and at sunset the Sun will appear as though seized by Rāhu. Indra, the lord of rain, will not send showers at the proper time. When the end of the age draws near, crops will not sprout even when sown. Women will become harsh in disposition, constantly speaking cruel words, and will take a grim fondness in weeping.”
