Vaiśampāyana said: “In the age of Kali, people will take delight in violence and thus become impure in conduct. O sinless one, at that time the consequences of unrighteousness will grow exceedingly great—its fruits will be abundant and overpowering.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Delighting in violence (hiṃsā) corrupts society and leads to impurity; when adharma dominates, its karmic results become intense and widespread, warning the listener to uphold dharma even in degenerate times.
Vaiśampāyana describes characteristics of the Kali age: people become fond of violence and morally impure, and the outcomes of unrighteous conduct manifest powerfully—framing a prophetic ethical diagnosis of the coming era.
