Vaiśampāyana said: Your sons, whose foremost delight is in the science of archery, set out under auspicious conditions and went straight toward Ānarṭa. Entering the city of the Vṛṣṇis, they took up residence in Kṛṣṇa’s realm; and living there, they no longer yearned even for the worlds of the gods—so complete was their satisfaction in that righteous and secure refuge.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights contentment grounded in righteous protection and purposeful discipline: when one finds a secure, dharmic refuge and a meaningful vocation (here, dhanuḥ-veda), even exalted temptations like heavenly pleasures lose their pull.

Vaiśampāyana reports that the speaker’s sons, devoted to archery, travel auspiciously to Ānarṭa and enter the Vṛṣṇis’ city (Dvārakā), living in Kṛṣṇa’s sphere of protection; their satisfaction there is so great that they do not even desire the gods’ worlds.
