Indra’s Meeting with the Pāṇḍavas
स हाासनवरं श्रीमत् पुष्पकं विश्वकर्मणा । विहितं चित्रपर्यन्तमातिछतत धनाधिप:,धनाध्यक्ष कुबेर विश्वकर्माके बनाये हुए सुन्दर एवं श्रेष्ठ विमान पुष्पकपर विराजमान थे। वह विमान विचित्र निर्माणकौशलकी पराकाष्ठा था
sa hāsanavaraṁ śrīmat puṣpakaṁ viśvakarmaṇā | vihitaṁ citraparyantam ātiṣṭhat tad dhanādhipaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: The lord of wealth, Kubera, was seated upon the splendid and excellent aerial car Puṣpaka—crafted by Viśvakarman—whose workmanship was exquisite in every detail. The verse underscores the ideal of rightful prosperity: wealth and power, when properly obtained and well-ordered, are portrayed as dignified and regulated rather than reckless.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse presents prosperity and magnificence as something that can be orderly and legitimate: Kubera’s splendor is shown as structured, crafted, and fitting to his role, suggesting that wealth ideally aligns with propriety and right stewardship rather than mere display.
Vaiśampāyana describes Kubera seated on the Puṣpaka vimāna, a magnificent aerial car made by the divine craftsman Viśvakarman, emphasizing its extraordinary and intricate construction.
