Vaiśampāyana said: The lord of wealth, Kubera, was seated upon the splendid and excellent aerial car Puṣpaka—crafted by Viśvakarman—whose workmanship was exquisite in every detail. The verse underscores the ideal of rightful prosperity: wealth and power, when properly obtained and well-ordered, are portrayed as dignified and regulated rather than reckless.

Educational Q&A

The verse presents prosperity and magnificence as something that can be orderly and legitimate: Kubera’s splendor is shown as structured, crafted, and fitting to his role, suggesting that wealth ideally aligns with propriety and right stewardship rather than mere display.

Vaiśampāyana describes Kubera seated on the Puṣpaka vimāna, a magnificent aerial car made by the divine craftsman Viśvakarman, emphasizing its extraordinary and intricate construction.
