Vaiśampāyana said: The radiant lord of the Yakṣas, Kubera—attended by gods and Gandharvas—set forth, while their voices praised him. The neighing of his horses sounded like an omen of victory, each steed neighing in turn and rousing the others, as the great king rode upon his vast chariot, hearing the hymns of the divine hosts.

The passage highlights the traditional epic idea that righteous power and legitimate sovereignty are accompanied by auspicious signs and public (even divine) affirmation—praise, order, and harmony in the retinue—suggesting that authority should be aligned with cosmic approval rather than mere force.
Vaiśampāyana narrates Kubera’s departure: he rides a great chariot with horses whose neighing is interpreted as a sign of victory, while gods and Gandharvas praise him as he proceeds.
