वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights that when rulers or heroes live with restraint and harmony—even amid hardship—the wise naturally respond with goodwill. Social and spiritual legitimacy is shown as arising from conduct that pleases sages and upholds dharma.
Vaiśampāyana describes the Pāṇḍavas residing in a place during their forest life, engaging in recreation and movement there. Observing them, the sages and the Cāraṇas present become pleased and affectionate toward them.
