Kubera’s Fivefold Nīti and Protection of the Pāṇḍavas (वैश्रवणोपदेशः)
सलिलावर्तसंजातै: पुष्पितैश्न महीरुहै: । समावृतं पुण्यतममाश्रमं वृषपर्वण:,राजन! वहाँ पाण्डवोंने गन्धमादन पर्वतका निकटसे दर्शन किया। हिमालयका वह पावन पृष्ठभाग नाना प्रकारके वृक्षों और लताओंसे आवृत था। वहाँ जलके आवर्तोंसे सींचकर उत्पन्न हुए फूलवाले वृक्षोंसे घिरा हुआ वृषपर्वाका परम पवित्र आश्रम था। शत्रुदमन पाण्डवोंने उन धर्मात्मा राजर्षि वृषपर्वाके पास जाकर क्लेशरहित हो उन्हें प्रणाम किया
vaiśampāyana uvāca | salilāvarta-sañjātaiḥ puṣpitaiś ca mahīruhaiḥ | samāvṛtaṃ puṇyatamam āśramaṃ vṛṣaparvaṇaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: The supremely holy hermitage of King Vṛṣaparvan was enclosed by flowering trees that had sprung up, nourished by the swirling eddies of the waters.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Holiness is associated with places where nature supports tapas and dharma; approaching the righteous with humility and respectful salutation is portrayed as a means to relief from distress and moral steadiness.
The Pāṇḍavas reach the Gandhamādana–Himālaya region and come upon the supremely sacred hermitage of King Vṛṣaparvan, surrounded by flowering trees nourished by water-eddies; they go to him and bow respectfully.
