Thus ends the one hundred and forty-ninth chapter of the Vana Parva of the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the episode of Lomasa’s pilgrimage: the account of the dialogue between Hanumān and Bhīmasena inside the Kadali forest. This colophon marks the completion of the section, framing the encounter as a spiritually charged meeting in which strength is tempered by humility and guided by dharma.
भीम उवाच
As a chapter-colophon, the line chiefly marks closure, but it frames the preceding dialogue as a dharmic encounter: physical power is not an end in itself; it is to be disciplined by humility, reverence for the greater (elders and exemplars), and alignment with righteous purpose.
The text announces the completion of a chapter within Lomasa’s pilgrimage narrative in the Vana Parva, specifically the section describing the conversation between Hanumān and Bhīmasena inside the Kadali forest.
