Hanūmān’s Vast Form and Instruction on Dharma–Statecraft
tad ihāpsarasaḥ tāta gandharvāś ca sadānagha | tasya vīrasya caritaṃ gāyanto ramayanti mām | niṣpāpa bhīma! asmin sthāne gandharvā apsarasāś ca vīravara-raghunāthasya caritāni gāyan mām ānanditaṃ kurvanti ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “Here, dear child—O ever-sinless one—Apsarases and Gandharvas sing of that hero’s deeds and thereby delight me. O blameless Bhīma, in this very place the Gandharvas and Apsarases keep gladdening me by chanting the exploits of the foremost hero, Raghunātha.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical power of remembering and reciting the deeds of a righteous hero: virtuous conduct becomes a source of joy and upliftment not only for humans but even for celestial beings, suggesting that dharmic exemplars are preserved and celebrated through sacred song.
Vaiśampāyana describes a particular place where Gandharvas and Apsarases continually sing the exploits of a great hero, and their singing delights him; he addresses Bhīma as “blameless,” situating the scene as a reverent, uplifting setting marked by celestial praise.
