Hanūmān’s Vast Form and Instruction on Dharma–Statecraft

ayaṃ ca mārgo martyānām agamyaḥ kurunandana | tato ’haṃ ruddhavān mārgaṃ tavemaṃ devasevitam |

Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “This path is inaccessible to mortals, O delight of the Kurus. Therefore I had barred this god-frequented way for you—lest, by proceeding on it, you be slighted or cursed; for it is a divine road of the gods, not a route for human beings. O Bhārata, the lake you have come to seek is here itself.”

Educational Q&A

Certain realms and routes are reserved for the divine; dharmic conduct includes respecting boundaries, avoiding arrogance, and heeding guidance so that one does not incur blame or a curse through improper access.

Vaiśaṃpāyana explains that a particular road is a god-trodden, non-human path, so it was blocked to protect the Kuru prince from possible disrespect or cursing; he then indicates that the sought-after lake is nearby.
