The Saugaṇdhika Lotus and Bhīma’s Approach to Hanūmān

brāhmaṇaiḥ sahitā vīrā havasan puruṣarṣabhāḥ | kṛṣṇāyās tatra paśyantaḥ krīḍitāny amaraprabhāḥ | vicitrāṇi naravyāghrā remire tatra pāṇḍavāḥ ||

The tiger-like heroes, foremost among men, lived there in the company of brāhmaṇas. Radiant like the gods, the Pāṇḍavas delighted in that place, watching the many wondrous sports of Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī). The scene underscores a dharmic rhythm of exile: the warriors sustain themselves not by conquest but by disciplined companionship with sages and by finding lawful joy amid hardship.

Educational Q&A

Even in adversity, the righteous sustain dharma through the company of the learned and through disciplined, lawful living; joy is not rejected, but harmonized with duty and restraint.

During the forest exile, the Pāṇḍavas stay together with brāhmaṇas and pass their time peacefully, watching Draupadī’s varied amusements and taking delight like godlike heroes despite their hardship.
