Educational Q&A

The verse primarily paints a vivid forest setting rather than stating a direct moral. Indirectly, it underscores attentiveness to one’s surroundings and the reality of life in exile: the wilderness is a living domain with its own order, reminding listeners that human plans unfold within a larger natural world.

Ghaṭotkaca is describing a forest region encountered in the course of events, emphasizing that it is densely populated with various animals—peacocks, chamaras, monkeys, deer, boars, wild cattle, and buffaloes—thereby setting the scene and atmosphere.
