Vaiśaṃpāyana said: The Pāṇḍavas gently took up Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī), who lay in a pitiable state, and laid the ascetic woman upon a deerskin spread. When she regained consciousness, they soothed her and gave her rest—protective care that upheld her dignity and eased suffering in adversity.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma expressed as compassionate protection: when someone is weakened by suffering, the righteous response is to support, restore, and safeguard their dignity rather than abandon them.
Draupadī, described as distressed and ascetic in the forest life, is physically supported by the Pāṇḍavas and laid on a deerskin spread; as she regains consciousness, they comfort her and ensure she can rest.
