Draupadī’s Exhaustion and the Summoning of Ghaṭotkaca

Vaiśampāyana said: When the tumult of the storm had subsided—when the wind’s force became gentle and even, the mountain’s waters had drained down, and the cloud-cover dispersed so that the sun shone forth—then all those heroic Pāṇḍavas slowly came out from where they had been and set out once again toward Mount Gandhamādana.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights steadiness (dhairya) and disciplined action: after disturbance and danger pass, one should regain composure and continue one’s rightful course without haste or despair, moving together with resolve.

After a violent storm calms—winds ease, waters drain from the mountain, clouds clear and the sun appears—the Pāṇḍava heroes slowly emerge from their place of shelter and resume their journey toward Mount Gandhamādana.
