The Arrival of Maitreya and the Admonition to Duryodhana

taṁ samāsādya vitrastā kṛṣṇā kamalalocanā | adṛṣṭapūrva-saṁtrāsān nyamīlayata locane ||

Drawing near to that being, Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī), lotus-eyed, was seized by fear; overwhelmed by a terror she had never known before, she shut both her eyes. The scene shows how sudden, unfamiliar danger can shake even the steadfast, and it calls upon protectors and rulers to uphold dharma by not exposing the vulnerable to भय (fear) and हिंसा (violence).
