(Sagara-Upākhyāna): Śiva’s boon and the extraordinary birth of Sagara’s progeny

Then all the gods, gathered together, approached Vindhya—the great king among mountains. By various means they tried to pacify and restrain him; yet he did not accept their counsel, refusing to heed their words.

Educational Q&A

Even powerful beings can fall into adharma when pride or anger blocks receptivity to good counsel; maintaining order requires humility and willingness to be restrained by wise advice.

Lomaśa narrates that all the gods collectively approach the Vindhya mountain and attempt, through various expedients, to calm and restrain him, but Vindhya refuses to listen to them.
