atra te ’dharmaniratā baddhāḥ kālena pīḍitāḥ | daiteyā nivasanti samaṃ vāsavena hataśriyaḥ ||
Here dwell those Daityas who are devoted to unrighteousness—bound and tormented by Time—whose splendor and prosperity have been struck down by Vāsava (Indra).
नारद उवाच
Those who persist in adharma are ultimately restrained by Kāla (Time) and lose their śrī (prosperity and radiance); the verse frames downfall as a moral consequence enacted through cosmic time and divine power (Indra).
Nārada points out a group of Daityas residing in that place, describing them as bound and afflicted by Time and as having been deprived of their former prosperity after being struck down by Indra (Vāsava).
