Educational Q&A

Even in charged circumstances, one should uphold maryādā (propriety): accept honour without arrogance, listen with restraint, and reciprocate respect according to what is due (yathārham). Ethical conduct is shown through measured speech, attentive listening, and dignified composure.

As Kṛṣṇa is received among the Kurus, he is formally honoured and addressed pleasantly. He listens to their words, returns appropriate courtesies, and proceeds slowly while observing those present—signalling diplomatic attentiveness in the Kaurava setting during the lead-up to conflict.
