Vaiśampāyana said: “You are the wife of a hero and the mother of heroes, endowed with every virtue. O woman of great wisdom, one like you ought to endure both happiness and sorrow with steadfast composure.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse teaches dharmic steadiness: a virtuous and discerning person should bear both joy and grief without losing composure, especially in a warrior household where reversals are inevitable.
In Vaiśampāyana’s narration, a woman addressed as a heroic wife and mother is being consoled and instructed to remain firm-minded, accepting both सुख and दुःख as part of her duty and life situation.
