Kuntī’s Lament and Govinda’s Consolation

Vaiśaṃpāyana said: O king, at that time, as Hṛṣīkeśa (Śrī Kṛṣṇa) was entering the city, the people standing along the royal road began to praise him.
The verse highlights reverence for righteous leadership: when a figure identified with dharma appears, society instinctively honors and looks to him for moral guidance, especially when war and ethical crisis loom.
As Kṛṣṇa (Hṛṣīkeśa) enters the city during the Udyoga Parva’s tense preparations, people line the royal road and praise him, marking his arrival as a significant public event.
